Here at FC Firecrackers, we recognize that finances can play a critical role in both the club and the team decision making process. Any sport that practices and plays for 5-8 months of the year can have a significant cost. Even though the Club has historically been the least expensive and best value club in the area, we understand the financial challenges that may arise. To assist families in reducing some of the stress, FC Firecrackers offers several methods to help manage the financial commitment.
The first is a payment plan that allows player dues to be paid monthly over the club season. The plan sets a fixed upfront payment due on signing day that covers uniform costs and a portion of the player dues – usually 1/3 to 1/2 of the total, depending on the team. The remaining amount is then spread into monthly increments for the length of the season, with the last payment due at the beginning of the month prior to the last month of play. (Example: Regional teams typically play until the end of March. The last installment payment would be due February 1st). If the standard payment plan does not reduce the financial challenge to a bearable level, the Club will work with each family to determine modified and/or extended payment plans.
The second is our Sponsorship Program. This program is designed to provide players an opportunity to gather community sponsors to help offset player dues. Use your influence and connections to create a win-win for all involved. Businesses, organizations, churches and civic organizations are a few of the eligible. There is a dollar for dollar reduction in a player’s dues when a Sponsor donates to the Club in that player’s name. If desired, the Sponsor may receive space for their logo on the Club website and/or social media outlets for a specified amount of time. See the details contained in the Sponsorship Program document. Note that the Board retains the right to reject any sponsorship that is divisive or goes against Club beliefs.
The third is our Financial Assistance Scholarship Program (FASP). We have a limited amount of FASP funds available for families facing significant financial challenges whose total household income prohibits club volleyball participation. Our FASP process requires the submittal of an application that includes family income information, other player commitments, and any extenuating circumstances. The Club will review the submitted information and make a determination on the amount of funds, if any, to award. FASP applications can be submitted anytime but are preferred prior to tryouts and are confidential in nature. Submittal and determination will have no bearing on tryouts or player selection.
